The Good Dinosaur movie quotes follow what happens when one young dinosaur befriends a young human cave boy. The animated children's movie was created by Disney Pixar using a screenplay by Meg LeFauve. Peter Sohn directed the 3D adventure film which opened in theaters in the United States on November 25, 2015.
In The Good Dinosaur, the world is a happy place where, following the disastrous asteroid missing the earth, dinosaurs roam the planet. One young Apatosaurus Arlo (voiced by Raymond Ochoa) and his father, Poppa Henry (voiced by Jeffrey Wright), are out for a walk when tragedy strikes leaving Arlo lost and alone far from home.
While Arlo wants nothing more than to go home, he takes comfort when a kind act from a small human cave boy provides him with a friend. Arlo names the boy Spot (voiced by Jack Bright) and together the two head off on an adventure. Along the way, they meet other dinosaurs (including voices by Sam Elliott, Anna Paquin, Peter Sohn and A. J. Buckley) and are each forced to face some fears as they journey to reunite Arlo with his family (including voices by Frances McDormand, Marchs Scribner and Maleah Padilla).
The Good Dinosaur brought some family fun to theaters for Thanksgiving weekend 2015 as it opened alongside the likes of The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2, Legend, Secret in Their Eyes and The Night Before.

Feeling that he has finally conquered his fears, Arlo proclaims himself as done being scared. Butch, however, urges him to reconsider this decision.
I've Got a Job For You
Butch: I've got a job for you. Keep on the dodge and saddle up the law dolly past them horned hens.
Arlo: What?
Butch explains to Arlo that Arlo is needed for a job. What exactly that job is, however, is not immediately clear.

Poppa Henry: Okay, now take a walk out there.
Arlo: By myself?
Poppa Henry: Go on.
Arlo: Poppa! Poppa!
Poppa Henry: Calm down. Breathe... Sometimes you gotta get through your fear to see the beauty on the other side.
Always offering good life lessons was one great quality about Arlo's father, Poppa Henry. On the urging of his father, Arlo does his best to overcome his fears and finds a benefit of that, just as Poppa Henry advertised.

Forrest Woodbush: That creature protected you. What is his name?
Arlo: I don't know.
Forrest Woodbush: I name him, I keep him: Killer.

When Arlo meets Forrest Woodbush, an animal collector, Arlo must battle to gain the attention of the small human he brought with him. Forrest Woodbush wants to claim the human boy as his own but thankfully for Arlo, the boy responds to one specific name.

Arlo: Ow! Ow! Why, you little!
When Arlo makes friends with a small human, it becomes clear real fast that they have different ideas of friendship. Arlo is happy to help the boy, who he named Spot, out, but not if it is painful, like in this situation.
How'd You Get Your Scar?
Arlo: How'd you get your scar?
Butch: I don't know if you're ready for that story.
Arlo: I can take it!
Nash: Oh, yeah, you gotta tell him, pop.
Ramsey: That's a good one!
Butch: It was 100 degrees in the shade and I walked for five days with no water. Then I saw it, the pretty pond. I bent down to take a drink when these crocs launched out of the water. One croc bit me on the face. Ain't no way I wasn't their supper, except for one thing. I wasn't ready for dying that day. I bit one croc in half, tail-whipped the other, and the last one, well, I drowned that croc in my own blood.
Arlo: Whoa!
Ramsey and Nash: Dang!
Nash: Look, look, it gives me little gooses every time!
Ramsey: I love that story!
As Butch explains the blood and tears involved in getting his scar, one has to wonder why such a violent story is included in an animated children's movie. Then again if you're in the business of believing that dinosaurs are alive and can talk, so everything else in the movie must be true, perhaps that's the better question.
You Wouldn't Understand
Arlo: I miss my family.
Spot: Huh?
Arlo: You don't understand.
Arlo tries to explain to new friend, Spot, that he misses home. Considering Spot doesn't seem to have a home, or speak English, this conversation doesn't go very far.
I Need to Get Home
Arlo: I need to get home.
Lost and alone in an unknown world, Arlo wants nothing more than to just go home. For a young dinosaur, or any other species for that matter, being lost, especially away from home, is the worst feeling ever.
